FLAG FOOTBALL!!!!!!!

Raden had his first flag football game today. His cousin Issac and best friend Camron are on the team too. It is so good for him to be around a bunch of boys and being rough and tackling each other since he is always so outnumbered by girls - here at home and at school - there are 6 boys in his school class out of 25 kids! He is really enjoying it and it is so fun to see how far they have come from the first day of practice.

He is number 11 and is running the ball - Isaac is number 12 and is the quarterback in these videos.

Bailee's 10!!!!!

Bailee's 10th birthday ended up being on the Sunday we were in California -
She and I went to dinner and shopping before we left but we were able to have a birthday dinner at Stacie's house for her and Stacie's daughter Presley. Thanks Stace!

Bailee - It is hard for me to belive that you are 10 now. You are such a help to me with your younger brother and sisters and are a very responsible girl. You bring so much to our family and we love you more that we could ever say! Happy Birthday!!!!

Dinseyland and Beach- Summer 2009

THE DRIVE-

And We're Off ... I HIGHLY recommend letting each child having and packing their own activity bag with a treat bag in it - a lot less fighting and arguing

Say Cheese!

1 hour into the drive.... all is well

Three hours ... not so well

AAAHHHH- peace and quiet

The drive was actually pretty uneventful and we even stopped and ate our picninc lunch

At Stacie's house with all the girls - belive it or not the two girls in front are sister from the same mom and dad

THE BEACH -
First impression - not so great

Right before a gigantic wave took out our camp spot and made us move back 15 feet - Funny!

Making sand castles

Here it comes - ready,set, .........

RRRRUUUUUUNNNNNNN!!!!!!!

Raden had SO much fun with his cousins Houston and Elijah - he is used to being outnumbered by girls and was very glad there was other boys around.

Testing out the waters with Grammie

Bailee and Elijah playing in the waves

Helplessly watching the waves destroy their hard work -

Run Away!

Jadie loved the sand much more than the water

Playing in the sand - and yes there was sand in the swimsuits - alot!

AAAAAHHHHH Cute!

THE HOTEL -

Jadie and Porter talking to eachother on the phone -

This was the kids first time at a hotel - so of course we had to get a picture of them jumping on the beds

DISNEYLAND -
I didnt get alot of pictures because I kept forgetting my camera in my bag. We didnt see any characters accept for Jadie when she was with Aunt Gina but I guess she FREAKED out - really wish I had a picture of that :) The day was beautiful, no lines for the rides and the kids had so much fun. They went on everything that they could and Lexi even wanted to go on Splash Mountain again. Bailee, Jared, Elijah, Ta-ta and Raden went over the California Adventure and rode "Screamin" , except for Raden - he wasnt tall enough, and loved it. We ran them ragged for 11 hours and decided that next time we will get a three day pass - that place is just too big to do in one day!

We had to wait a little while for the Matterhorn (sp) because they had to reset it - but got more passes to other rides so it was worth it.

Jadie after going on the Rocket ride with Aunt Gina, Uncle Kameron and Porter while the others went on Star Tours again

Having too much fun!

Raden and Elijah on It's a Small World - they pretended to shoot the toys the whole ride

Dancing during the parade and eating our favorite Disneyland treat- CHURROS!!!!!

The cousins with Grammie and Ta-ta

Walking across the street to our hotel after a long but fun day

Boys will be boys

Last night I was driving home with the kids and we were looking at the sunset, making pictures out of the clouds. The girls were saying what they thought the clouds looked like and all of a sudden Raden pipes up and says -" it looks like a dragon blew up"

Yep - boys are different than girls.

Yes it is worth it

My mom always told me that parenting will be the hardest and most rewarding job I could ever do. I am just starting to understand what she meant. Bailee has started being VERY sassy the last year, trying to become her own person and declare her independence - which I know she needs to do and I know that I don't help much with the way that I react to her - we are so much alike in a lot of ways:) She is a perfectionist and a worrier and puts a lot of pressure on herself. I hope that I am not adding to that. But I've been told that because she does that, when she gets home she finally relaxes, lets herself let go and lets everything out on the people that she knows will love her anyway, unconditionally. Makes sense. And I can handle that - I have been trying harder and we are doing better - I just want us to have a close relationship before she gets into the "parents are uncool" stage, or maybe I can prevent that stage from even happening - wishful thinking? hope not

So yesterday I started laundry and asked the kids to bring me their hampers. I started sorting the clothes and in Bailee's hamper was a note to me that said :

Thank you Mom, it means a lot to me and it shows that you care. Thank-you! Love Bailee

Okay - yes it is worth it - absolutely

Sweet Jadie

Jadie, Lexi and I stayed home from church today because they are sick but Jadie melted my heart as she was trying to get ready so she could go - Jared came home after his meetings to pick up Bailee and Raden, and Jadie runs out of her room with her dress half on and her shoes in one hand and sits in front of the garage door trying to finish getting ready - snot running down her face, coughing and crying saying "go - church, go-church, go - daddy" and she got so upset when I picked her up and they went without her. Either she really likes nursery or she is just really sick of me and being stuck in the house and wanted to go with Jared. Either way - I love you my sweet girl!
