Nothing sweeter

Listening to Jadie laying in bed singing "Hush Little Baby" to her babydoll - saying about every fourth word - nothing sweeter than that.

Fourth grade math help -

So how sad is it that I had to look in my daughters math book today to help her with her homework - I couldn't figure it out without cheating. I knew it would come eventually but fourth grade- really? In my defense they were supposed to solve the problems a specific way. And even after looking at the book it still took me a minute to figure it out. Sorry Bailee, but I think you got my math brain.

hold your loved ones tighter

My aunt was just told that she has an inoperable brain tumor and has 4 weeks to 4 months left. A friend in Sierra Vista just passed away leaving a young wife and a 2 1/2 year old son. My college roomate is recovering from colon cancer. The kids had a lock down at school yesterday and I had let them leave for the bus being upset with them over some dumb argument. All this has hit me really hard and made me realize that we don't know how long our time here will be but that the time we do have here is so precious and that we need to hold our loved ones tighter and don't ever take anything for granted. I am trying to slow down, stop worrying, and just enjoy.

Back to school

Why in the world are we starting school the first part of August?! Whatever the reason, I couldnt stop it from coming and the kids are back to school. Yesterday was their first day. Bailee is in 4th, Raden is in 1st and Lexi started pre-school today. Bailee and Raden even insisted on taking an apple for their teachers . I was worried about Raden because he had such a hard transition last year but so far everything has gone smoothly. They even only let me drive them to school the first day and wanted to ride the bus today - so I sent the bus schedule with them and made them memorize the route number! A little paranoid since Bailee was dropped off in the wrong neighborhood 2 years ago. Raden didnt even give me a kiss - although I did try to kiss him in the middle of his classroom with all the other kids around- major Mom mistake! I guess I will have to sneak it in before he goes to the bus! I really miss them - it's just Jadie and me today - the house is very quiet. HHHMMMMM- kind of nice :)

Lazy Days of Summer part 2

We went to a church party for Pioneer day and the kids had a great time playing in the dunk tank and hitting eachother with water balloons.

Bailee cooling off in the dunk tank

Raden got dunked too

Lexi liked launching the water ballons

Even Jared was a sport and got in the tank

Jadie wasnt too sure of the tank but did feel better after getting dunked

The last trip we took was up to Jared's parents cabin in Pinetop. Jared helped his Dad and brother-in-law put new flooring in the kitchen and then we spent the remainder of the time with no schedule - just doing what ever we wanted!

I figured out that the real reason we didnt go very far growing up was because my parents didnt want to have to listen to 6 kids in the car. YAY for DVD players and headphones!!!!!

The new kitchen floor - thanks G- for letting me steal these off your blog :)

Playing with cousins baby Aniston - sorry if I spelled that wrong G- and Porter

Gina let Lexi pick out a couple of cute hair bows and she wore them all at the same time. you can look at her CUTE stuff here at http://anastynsaccessories.blogspot.com

Bailee got a cute new haircut just in time for school

After:

We did lots of this-

Some of this:

Of course this:

playing with the camera while Jadie was waiting her turn on the quad

We spent one day swimming

Bailee racing Jared across the pool

Crazy kids

Hitching a ride

And of course we did way to much of this

We always have to get a picture on the porch swing at least once while we are there

It was a perfect way to end these lazy summer days -

Sugar High?

One Daddy at work + one Mom in the shower getting ready for church + four thirsty unsupervised kids = one big pitcher of Kool-Aid made with 5 cups of sugar. Apparently it just didn't taste good with just one. Sugar high anyone?

The lazy days of summer

We have done a lot these last couple of weeks of summer and have had a really good time - I am sad that school is starting in 2 days and always have a hard time adjusting to not having my kids at home.

Some friends took us to Canyon Lake and it was the first time the kids had been on a boat. Jared and I were afraid that we were going to have to push them in the water once we got there - but we had nothing to worry about :)

Beautiful Lake

First time on the tube

hanging out with Daddy

Three CRAZY little girls

Trying to stand and surf

Almost!

Conquering the tube!

enjoying the ride

hanging out at the front of the boat

enjoying the view

Even the adults got to get in on the fun wake boarding

one funny guy and three silly girls

last look at the lake before heading home

Thanks so much for taking us - we had a great time!
